1. Asking for a colour
Ask for a colour with color: a name from our colour list, in any capitals, or any six-character colour code such as 8B1A1A. A name we do not know is served in silver, and the Hyke-Differences header counts it. Every vehicle is drawn once and painted in the colour you ask for; it is a computer-generated representation, not the maker's own paint. The full list is at GET /v1/options, beside the angles and formats.

color=white
The option works the same on every kind of vehicle — here a Caterpillar 320 excavator in a colour code:

2. A colour we do not recognise
A colour is never refused. The response explains what was served:
We did not recognise the colour "banana", so we served silver.
3. Colours in basic settings
Once the month's full requests are used up, a basic request gets silver, black or white:
Any colour is available for your first 150 requests each month. Those are used up, so we served silver. Basic colours: silver, black, white.
4. Colours and new vehicles
A colour never costs a new vehicle. A new vehicle is one we have never drawn, made at all seven angles in one go; once it exists, every colour of it is free.
